Winds 7-3 Victors Over Springfield
The Chicago Winds defeated the Springfield Isotopes, 7-3, in Superior Conference action at Wrigley Field. Chicago pitcher Gabriel MacWhirter had a standout performance. MacWhirter got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Mark Hunter picked up the save for Chicago, his 4th of the year.

Leon Morales took Springfield hurler Curt Jensen deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Winds on top, 2-0. In all, Morales had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Morales.

The win gives Chicago a record of 7-6.
