Seagulls Handle Alaska, Snag 8-6 Win
|
The Toronto Seagulls beat the Alaska Snow Sox, 8-6, at Toronto Fields. Toronto center fielder Tim Hollingsworth had the hot bat. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Toronto reliever Estanislau Eduardo picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Curt Wyatt was saddled with the loss. Toronto has 3 straight wins, Alaska 4 straight losses.
With Toronto leading 3-0 in the bottom of the first, Hollingsworth hit a cutter from Curt Wyatt for a grand slam home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Seagulls ahead, 7-0.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Toronto skipper Ricky Buckley.
