The Bay Area Bandits topped the Los Angeles Shockers by a score of 5-4. Leading the way was right fielder Cole Werner. Werner hit 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times for the Bandits. Christian Pearson got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. The win has Bay Area at 1-1.
Werner had a timely hit for Bay Area in the top of the seventh. With Bay Area trailing 4-3, he turned a 1-0 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 5-4, Bay Area.
