Dukes Rally to Nose Past Florida
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Dukes beat the Penguins.

The Green Day Dukes besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Florida third baseman Michael James by beating the Penguins, 6-5, at Duke Stadium. James went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Green Day reliever Bob Alexander got the win, raising his record to 3-7. Craig Webb was tagged with the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Alberto Vargas in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Craig Webb to win the game for Green Day. The home crowd went nuts.

In postgame remarks, Vargas said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."

The 4th-place Dukes are now 65-76, the Penguins 58-83.
