The Chicago Winds got a superb performance from second baseman Nathan Hudson, but the Springfield Isotopes still won the game, 5-3. Hudson went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Springfield pitcher Nicholas Reiter got the win. He's now 1-0. Chris Jewell was tagged with the loss. Springfield goes to 6-9.

Springfield won the game in part because of Dani Medellin. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Isotopes ahead, 4-2. For the game, Medellin had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Medellin said.
