The Charlotte Hawks faced a tough opponent in Miami pitcher Ken Fitzgerald, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hawk Nest by a final score of 6-3. Fitzgerald went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The loss drops Miami to 9-6.

Charlotte took the lead, 6-3, on Chris Pritchard's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Miami pitcher Mike Ryan in the bottom of the eighth.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Pritchard told the Charlotte Citizen.
