Cleveland Absorbs 5-1 Loss to Springfield
Pitcher Justin Ferris was rock solid in helping the Springfield Isotopes beat the Cleveland Spiders, 5-1. Lloyd Dooley, credited with the save, is now 3 for 8 in save opportunities. The Isotopes improved their record to 61-84 by beating Cleveland.

The Spiders had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Isotopes going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 2019 Jeffrey Lamar Lewis Award winner Jimmy Flannery came to the plate. Flannery hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch changeup from Cleveland hurler Peter Fox. It was Flannery's 22nd home run of the year.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Flannery.
