Rabbits Bag 2-0 Win
|
The Denver Rabbits, despite a fine performance by Detroit pitcher Joe Perry, grabbed a 2-0 win at Mile Long Stadium. Perry allowed 2 runs over 6 innings. Jim Lake snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 3 innings. He's now 1-1 on the season. Kevin Schneider earned his 9th save in 14 chances.
The Rabbits got a big at-bat from right fielder Chris Walker. For the game, Walker was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Denver a 2-0 lead.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Walker told the Denver Daily. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
With the win over Detroit, the Rabbits improved to 82-65.
