Penguins Stumble, Lose to Rugrats
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Florida Penguins and Orlando Rugrats get after it.
The Orlando Rugrats powered past the Florida Penguins, 9-3, at Carpet Kingdom. Scott Herrera provided some of the pop. He was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Clay Seymour, who finished 2nd in the SC in strikeouts with 223 in 2018, was the winner. He's now 9-13. The loser was Cesar Colon. Art Hughes was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 6 save opportunities.
Orlando left fielder Mike McCullough contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 29th hit of the season and put the Rugrats ahead, 5-3.
"Feels good to get the job done," Herrera said after the game.
The Orlando winning streak has reached 3 games.
