Dave Haney was a vital contributor to the 10-3 Phoenix victory over Mars. The Autobots third baseman went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Phoenix pitcher Chris Eyres earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Mike Slaughter suffered the loss.

Phoenix used a well-timed hit by Jack Olson to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Autobots ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Olson.

The victory makes Phoenix 2-0.
