Winds Lose By a Run at Cleveland
The Cleveland Spiders topped the Chicago Winds, 4-3, in Superior Conference action at Cleveland Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cleveland pitcher Hunter Hunter. Hunter, now 9-9, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Dave Juhan got the save, his 13th in 14 chances.

Jody Rasmussen was 1-3. He drove in 2 runs for Cleveland. The 28-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jim Thompson. It was his 52nd RBI of the season.

"Hunter was dictating to their hitters," said Cleveland manager Ramon Bernal.

The loss makes Chicago 76-74.
