3-2 Loss Deepens New York Funk
|
The Florida Penguins picked up a win at Penguin Park, topping the New York Cobra, 3-2. On the mound for Florida was right-hander Fan Kutishi. He played a principal role in the triumph. Craig Webb converted his 12th save in 13 tries. The losses continue to mount for New York, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
The Penguins got a big at-bat from right fielder Ricardo Gonzalez. For the game, Gonzalez was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Florida a 3-2 lead.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said New York manager Chad White. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
