Godwin Helps Rabbits Defeat Isotopes, 7-0
Good production from first baseman Jerry Godwin helped the Denver Rabbits topple the Springfield Isotopes, 7-0. Godwin went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Rabbits. Dennis Bellew picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 5-7. After today's action, Denver sits at 87-67, while Springfield falls to 64-91.

With Denver leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Godwin hit a changeup from Justin Ferris for a 3-run home run. It was his 30th home run of the season and put the Rabbits ahead, 4-0.

Said losing manager Otto Tingley: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
