Josh Hale was locked in. The right-hander led the Toronto Seagulls to a 6-2 win against the Orlando Rugrats at Toronto Fields. Hale, now 10-11, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Toronto sits in third place in the Major Conference Eastern Division at 77-78.
Melvin Ortiz had a big 2-run double for the Seagulls in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Toronto leading 4-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 27-year old right-handed pitcher John Wilson and swatted a double to center. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Seagulls ahead, 6-2.
Ortiz called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
