The Hawaii Hounddogs picked up a win at Graceland Park, topping the Hollywood B's, 8-3. On the mound for Hawaii was right-hander Alex Smith. He played a principal role in the triumph. The third-place B's have lost 5 consecutive games.

Juan Carlos Baez had a big 3-run home run for the Hounddogs in the bottom of the third inning. With Hawaii trailing 3-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Fozzy Wacha, who finished 3rd in the MC in wins with 14 in 2021, and punished it. The result was his 23rd home run of the season, which put the Hounddogs on top, 4-3.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Baez told the Hawaii Times.
