Cobra Earn 5-4 Win Versus Bandits
|
Though he had a stellar game, Brendan Crawford could not prevent his team, the Bay Area Bandits, from losing, 5-4, to the New York Cobra. Crawford slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. New York reliever Bob Grant picked up the win, upping his record to 7-7. Chris Craig was saddled with the loss. Elmer Stephens earned his 41st save in 51 chances.
Gene Garcia drove in one run for New York. The three-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Chris Craig. It was his 58th RBI of the season.
"Enjoyed this one," Garcia told the New York Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The loss makes Bay Area 81-77.
