Alaska pitcher Eliot Rippin had a large part in his team beating the Detroit Devils, 9-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Devils, now 6-12, continue their slow start.

The Snow Sox picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"When Eliot is on, he can really move the ball around," said Alaska manager Greg Poupon.
