Robins Slap 4-3 Loss on Bay Area
|
The St. Louis Robins picked up a win at Robins Nest, knocking off the Bay Area Bandits, 4-3. Starting pitcher Shannon Lambert was a big reason why. Lambert got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. David Ramirez closed the door for St. Louis, picking up his 6th save of the year.
The Bandits had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Robins going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old second baseman Wade Shook came to the plate. Shook hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch cutter from Bay Area hurler Anthony Vincent. It was Shook's 1st home run of the year.
Lambert called the win "a collective effort."
Bay Area is now 10-10.
