The Chicago Winds topped the Charlotte Hawks, 7-4, in Superior Conference action at Wrigley Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Chicago right fielder Ken Williams. The win went to George Jackson in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Mike Brown took the loss. The save went to Mark Hunter, his 5th this season.

Chicago designated hitter Erik Valentin helped the Winds go up, 5-4, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Valentin hit a run-scoring single off Charlotte pitcher Mike Brown.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Williams.

With the loss, Charlotte drops to 12-6.
