Victor Montalvo never let the Decepticons get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his forkball, to pitch the Hounddogs to a win, 2-0. Cesar Cordero earned his 4th save, after closing out the game. The Decepticons, now 7-13, continue their sluggish start.

Manny Carson Jr., who leads the MC in hits with 30, had a direct impact on the outcome. Carson Jr. contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Hawaii up, 2-0.

"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Sonic Russell.
