Beaneaters Get Clutch Win Versus New York
|
The Boston Beaneaters faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Edward Berry, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Fenway Park by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings. Berry went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Boston reliever Harvey Lee snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Luis Castrillon shouldered the loss. The loss makes New York 2-1.
The Beaneaters got a clutch hit from second baseman Lynn Buck. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Beaneaters.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Buck said.
