Hounddogs Pocket 7-3 Win Against Toronto
|
Hawaii first baseman John Branton was instrumental in helping the Hounddogs triumph, 7-3, over the Toronto Seagulls. Branton was 1 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times. Victor Mendez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Josh Hale was tagged with the loss. The win gives Hawaii a record of 12-9.
Catcher Chief Nebit made an impact for Hawaii, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Josh Hale in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Nebit was 2-5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We did a lot of things right," said Branton.
