Cleveland Beats Alaska, 4-2
|
Cleveland picked up a win at Cleveland Grounds, bumping off the Alaska Snow Sox, 4-2. Pitcher David Lewis was a major reason the Spiders emerged victorious. The loss drops Alaska to 15-9.
Aurelio Vega had a big 2-run double for the Spiders in the bottom of the first inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a slider from 33-year old left-handed pitcher Norberto Rodriguez and swatted a double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spiders ahead, 3-0.
"David gave us everything he had," said Cleveland manager Ramon Bernal.
