Morales Slugs Winds to 6-5 Win
|
A 3-RBI performance from Leon Morales, who is tied for 5th in the SC in home runs with 6, helped the Chicago Winds beat the Louisville Sluggers, 6-5. Carlos Juarez snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. With the loss, Louisville is 6-19.
Morales had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Don Carr, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Winds a 6-5 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Morales.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Chicago manager Rocky Balboni.
