Gunfighters Slap 6-4 Loss on Mars
The inspired effort of Mars right fielder Alejandro García was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-4, to the Texas Gunfighters. García went 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Johnny Simpson picked up the save, his 4th. The loss puts Mars at 8-17.

The Gunfighters got a big at-bat from left fielder Jeff Cook. For the game, Cook was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Texas a 6-4 lead.

"We take it day by day here," said Cook, "and today was a good one for us."
