The Philadelphia Grays topped the Detroit Devils, 6-4, in Major Conference action at Devils Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Philadelphia pitcher and La Vega, Dominican Republic, native Jorge Ramírez. Ramírez got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The save went to Von McPherson, number 7 for him.

Philadelphia used a clutch at-bat from Julio Lopez to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Grays ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"They had a good approach," Detroit skipper Hokualohi Keohi said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."

Detroit, with the loss, is 8-18.
