The Miami Stars defeated the Texas Gunfighters, 4-2, in Superior Conference action at Ballpark of Miami. Miami pitcher Marlon Lewis had a standout performance. The save went to Ken Stafford, number 6 for him. The loss drops Texas to 17-12.

Had Yun-qi Yan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Yan hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Stars.

In postgame comments to the Miami Bulletin, Lewis said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
