The New York Knights rode a solid performance from 29-year-old starting pitcher Aaron Brown to a win, beating the Cleveland Spiders, 1-0, at New York Grounds. The win gives New York a record of 16-13.

The decisive blow was delivered by Richard Cole in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Howard Hollis to win the game for New York. The home crowd went nuts.

"This place was rocking at the end," Cole said.
