Miami and Chicago duked it out and the Stars came out victorious.

The Stars grabbed a win, 4-1, at Wrigley Field, overcoming a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Gabriel MacWhirter. MacWhirter went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Ken Fitzgerald, the winning pitcher, is now 3-2. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 1. Ken Stafford closed it out for Miami, earning his 7th save.

Brian Collins, who is tied for 9th in the SC with a .325 batting average, had a direct impact on the outcome. Collins contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Miami up, 2-1.

In postgame comments, Collins told the Miami Bulletin: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"

Miami, now 19-11, has gotten their season off to a good start.
