Penguins Lose at Home, 3-1
|
Philadelphia pitcher Jorge Ramírez had a large part in his team beating the Florida Penguins, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Getting the save was Ed Satcher, his 2nd. Florida is 15-15 after the defeat.
The Grays got a big at-bat from first baseman Hisashi Kondo. For the game, Kondo was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the top of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Philadelphia a 2-1 lead.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Kondo. "You've got to get results."
