Mud Hens Take Tight Tangle
|
Cleveland got a decent performance from pitcher Peter Fox, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toledo Mud Hens. Toledo won the Cleveland Grounds contest, 4-3. Fox came in in relief and pitched to 29 batters for the losing team. Cleveland is 14-18 after the loss.
Jose Vasquez provided a timely hit. The Toledo shortstop delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mud Hens on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"We ground out the win," said Vasquez. "That's all that matters."
