Toledo Mud Hens starter Cary Lee pitched his team past the Cleveland Spiders, 5-2. Toledo reliever Cary Lee got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Jorge Solis was tagged with the loss. Steve Greer, who finished 3rd in the SC in saves with 37 last year, nailed down the save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Broderick Jordan? The Toledo center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mud Hens on top, 4-2. For the game, Jordan had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Swagger goes hand in hand with playing well," said Toledo manager Miles O'Brien.
The win puts Toledo at 25-9 this season.
