Knights Lose By a Run at Louisville
|
The Louisville Sluggers earned a close win over the New York Knights, thanks in part to Tomas Sanchez. The Louisville left-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Louisville, with the win, is 10-29.
The Sluggers got a big at-bat from second baseman Carlos Alvarez. For the game, Alvarez went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Louisville a 2-1 lead.
"The team always comes first," Sanchez told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
