The Baltimore Colts knocked off the Boston Beaneaters, 4-2, at Ballpark of Baltimore. Jason Robinson was a big reason Baltimore won. The left fielder was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. The defeat makes Boston 19-17.
Cale Black had a big 2-run home run for the Colts in the bottom of the third inning. With Baltimore leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Larry Moody, who finished 5th in the SC in innings pitched with 228.1 in 2023, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Colts on top, 3-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Baltimore manager Davey Rose.
