Robins Earn 4-3 Win Versus Isotopes
|
The Robins grabbed a win, 4-3, at Robins Nest, overcoming a fine effort from Springfield pitcher Rens Spaan. Spaan went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Wilson Winfield snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-1 on the season. Marcelino Lopez suffered the loss. The loss makes Springfield 22-20.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 27-year old second baseman Anibal Otero had a real shot to win the game. Springfield pitcher Marcelino Lopez was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Otero hit a run-scoring single. The Robins had a walk-off triumph.
"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said Otero.
