Beaneaters Need Extra Frames to Get Past Spiders
Boston starter Larry Moody pitched well against the Cleveland Spiders at Cleveland Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2, in 10 innings. The win belonged to Scot Johnson in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Rafael Romero took the loss for Cleveland. Today's win puts Boston at 22-19, while Cleveland falls to 17-27.

Boston took a 4-2 lead on Virgil Burden's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Burden hit in the top of the tenth, left Cleveland pitcher Rafael Romero visibly frustrated.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Moody.
