Isotopes Take Tight Tangle
The Texas Gunfighters got a superb performance from pitcher Cristobal Rangel, but the Springfield Isotopes still won the game, 2-1. Rangel threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Curt Jensen nailed down the save. With the win, Springfield raised its record to 24-20.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Patrick Martin came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Texas pitcher Cristobal Rangel, he hit a 0-2 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Springfield on top, 2-1.

Springfield manager Otto Tingley commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
