The Boston Beaneaters inaugurated the 2026 campaign with a disappointing 13-6 loss to the New York Knights at Fenway Park. New York catcher Ricardo Santana had a big impact on the outcome. He went 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

New York used a well-timed hit by Arnold Ramirez to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Knights ahead, 5-3. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Ramirez.
