The Boston Beaneaters got a sterling performance from pitcher Jeremy Byers, but the New York Knights still prevailed, 4-1. Byers threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. New York reliever Steve Hinton got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Harvey Lee was tagged with the loss. Today's win puts New York at 25-25, while Boston falls to 27-21.

New York used the timely hitting of Casey Robinson to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Knights on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We took home the win," said Robinson. "What's not to like?"
