B's Fall Short, 3-2, at Bay Area

The Hollywood B's and Bay Area Bandits provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Bay Area Bandits defeated the Hollywood B's, 3-2, in Major Conference action at Bandits Park. Bay Area pitcher Kurt Piper had a standout performance. The winner was Piper. He threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Jose Rojas.
Jose Alvarado, who is tied for 9th in the MC in bases on balls with 25, helped out the Bay Area cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Bay Area skipper Nomad Garciajawa. "I can't complain."
By defeating Hollywood, the 4th-place Bandits improved to 24-30.
