Las Vegas right fielder Raul Saldana was instrumental in helping the Gamblers triumph, 5-4, over the Texas Gunfighters. Saldana went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jon Henderson, the winner, improved to 3-3. He held Texas to 4 runs on 3 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The save went to Jason Moore, number 11 for him.
With Las Vegas leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Saldana hit a fastball from Mark Stevens for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Gamblers ahead, 4-0.
Las Vegas manager Ray Brooks commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
The Gamblers improved their record to 22-32 by beating Texas.
