Peveto Helps Penguins Beat Seagulls, 10-8
|
Florida and Toronto duked it out and the Penguins came out victorious.
Behind the hitting of Gidget Peveto, the Florida Penguins stopped the Toronto Seagulls, 10-8. Peveto went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs for the Penguins. Craig Webb earned the save for Florida, his 2nd.
Florida won the game in part because of Joe Davidson. The left fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Penguins ahead, 8-4. For the game, Davidson had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Davidson said after the game.
The loss drops the Seagulls to 4-3.
