Crespo Excels in 8-2 Denver Win
The Denver Rabbits stopped the St. Louis Robins, 8-2, at Mile Long Stadium. The Rabbits got a big game from Bob Crespo, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Dennis Bellew, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-3. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 4 hits and no runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The Rabbits lead the Major Conference Central Division by 3½ games.

With Denver leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Crespo hit a curveball from Mike Law for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Rabbits ahead, 4-0.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Denver skipper Brian Woods.
