Isotopes 6-5 Winners Versus New York
|
New York first baseman Kenny Bowden had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Bowden was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Springfield beat the Knights, 6-5. Marcelino Lopez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 22 save opportunities. Springfield is 32-32 and New York, with the loss, 30-35.
Springfield designated hitter Dani Medellin contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 53rd hit of the season and put the Isotopes ahead, 3-0.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Medellin.
