A 4-0 record with a 1.61 ERA is a good month for most any pitcher. The Southern League thought it was worthy of an award and named Tucker Hall, starter for the Pensacola Diamond, April's Pitcher of the Month.
He also held the opposition to a .184 average while posting 23 strikeouts in 28 innings.

Tennessee's Canning Snags April Batting Title

At only 25 years of age, Brendon Canning could very well have many more months like this last one during his career.
That would be great news for fans of the Tennessee Daredevils, as April was one to remember for the catcher and he has captured the Southern League Batter of the Month award.
On the month he hit .431 with 2 home runs, 12 RBIs and 13 runs scored.

Star City Beats Birmingham as Kung Throws 7-0 Shutout

Feng-yi Kung kept the Birmingham Rams hitters from doing much damage at Star City Field.
Birmingham could only muster 3 hits and draw 2 walks against the right-handed Kung, who controlled them throughout the game. Star City won the contest, 7-0. Kung added 8 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.
"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Kung told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
Kung has gone 2-3 this season with an ERA of 4.18 and 35 strikeouts in 32.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .269 against him.
