Cestini Is SL's Best Pitcher in July

There was little doubt around the Southern League that Benjamin Cestini would be awarded Pitcher of the Month honors for July. Today, they made it official, naming the 25-year-old Star City Stars starter the latest honoree.
He thoroughly dominated the hitters who stood in against him, holding them to a .205 batting average while fashioning a 1.70 ERA in 5 starts. His record for the month was 4-1 in 37 innings of work.
This season, Cestini has a 10-6 mark in 20 starts with a 3.67 ERA. He has given up 132 hits in 135 innings, struck out 115 and issued 74 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .258 batting average against him.

July's #1 Batter Announced

It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 25 Don Bolduc has a lot of baseball ahead of him.
But for now the young Star City Stars star can enjoy the numbers he put up in July, which have garnered him the nod as the Southern League Batter of the Month.
His breakout month featured a .324 average with 4 home runs, 13 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
For the season, Bolduc is hitting .274, batted in 43 runs with 8 home runs and 44 runs scored.

Romero Toys with Huntsville in 3-0 Win

The Huntsville Night Train were no match for Armando Romero of the Tennessee Daredevils. Romero totally shut down and shut out Huntsville at Night Train Ballpark as Tennessee cruised to a 3-0 win. In the 9-inning effort, he gave up 5 hits, struck out 8, and walked 0.
Romero has made 11 starts, tossed 77.2 innings, struck out 59 batters and walked 20. His record is 6-3 with a 3.13 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .262 batting average.
